BEAT BULLYING CAMPAIGN

Did you know that research shows that children & young people with additional needs are more than three times more likely to be bully victims than their peers? With more than a third having experienced bullying in mainstream schools. Young people with additional needs have an increased vulnerability to abusive situations and can face many challenges. Therefore, we want our anti-bullying campaign to put a STOP to bullying and highlight that it’s better to be different & unique than follow like a sheep. Our aims We want all local schools across the Plymouth area to proudly display one of our anti-bullying posters and talk more openly about respecting each other and accepting everyone’s differences. We want ALL young people to be proud of what makes them different and to highlight that bullies follow like little sheep. How can you support us Anyone can get involved in helping to spread our campaign messages. Please join the BBF fam and help beat bullying forever!! To support us please ask your local school to display one of our colourful posters or if you are part of a school wanting to get involved, please get in touch, and we will pop a poster or two out to you. Bullying is an important topic that everyone should discuss, therefore, we want more parents & carers to be open and honest with their children about accepting everyone’s differences. It’s our differences that make us unique. To help our campaign reach as many people as possible please consider making a small donation to Give A Child A Chance. Your donation will help us to continue to spread the word about our campaign and in turn, help ALL children feel more positive about what makes them unique. GROW ZONE GARDEN APEAL

Throughout 2023, Give A child A Chance will be encourage everyone to help transform the play area at The Terraces, Mount Gould hospital into a peaceful & tranquil area. The hope is to create a safe and relaxing zone for individual and group intervention for SEN children and their parents & carers. The area will also be used to host gardening therapeutic group sessions and much more. The grow zone garden will reflect the growth of plants and nature but also various aspects of growth for the children that use it. To transform the current play area, we need a minimum of £2,000 – this will help to fund the following: A mixture of bright and colourful plants and pots Fruit trees & herb gardens Bird feeders and bath tables Raised flower beds A bug hotel & butterfly house Wind chimes and spinners Please help us reach our fundraising target and make the Grow Zone Garden grow. WEAR PINK OR PURPLE FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

Please join us in our latest fundraising event which will take place throughout October where we will be encouraging others to wear pink & purple for the day. The idea behind the event is to highlight ADHD so that those who struggle don’t feel alone. We choose October to highlight this particular topic as it is ADHD awareness month. Our suggestion to is hold a mufti day in your school or workplace so that everyone can get involved and dress up or down in something pink & purple. If however, you would like to create your own fundraising event that would be great too, we would simply love for everyone to get involved in some way. If you are a parent or carer of someone with ADHD and would like support or information, CLICK HERE All monies raised and donated can be paid directly to Give a Child a chance via PayPal.
